Martha Stewart : The Apprentice

Long vacation's almost over! Wow, back to work tomorrow! Yes, I love to work because I feel bored at home...

I had a long vacation for the Holy Week and yes, I was a bit bored. All I did was watching TV series on DVD... done with Heroes Season 2, Prison Break Season 3, Desperate Housewives Season 3 and I was running out of DVD except when I looked at my compilation and I saw The Apprentice by Martha Stewart which, I bought last year and didn't tried to watch it. I put on the Martha Stewart DVD on my player and started viewing it. I enjoyed the series and yes Martha Stewart's firm in looking for her Body and Soul Magazine executive... The interview process is really different. And it takes weeks before Martha chose who's the best... It's a one against 15 endeavor of the applicants. It started with 16 teamed up into 2 of 8s. Until 2 applicants were left Martha is to decide who among them fit the job!

Martha's interview process have illustrated very well how team work is important in a group. In the first team up, the team MATCH STICK is totally a mess compared to team PRIMARIUS. There is no unity in the team or let me say there's no team work. They never came up with a good idea because they always fight and they keep on blaming someone who did the big part of the project. They end up hating and backstabbing each members. In the other hand, Team PRIMARIUS discussed things and ideas thoroughly so, they end up with a good ideas. There was an instance when there's a conflict between the 2 members of the PRIMARIUS. The task was to design and bake a wedding cake. The conflict was between the Project Manager and his member. What struck me most in that situation is that they confronted each other after that shouting and saying the Fs and the Bs. And so, everything went well after that.

In my team, I think we lack unity and teamwork. Yes, we are doing everything for the good of the team and of the company as well but our Manager is not authoritative enough to delegate a task. We just sometimes have problems with members of the team (who has light tasks) who delegate their own task to others even if they know how loaded everybody is. And they are not even willing to learn and move one step higher. Some are not open to new challenges and when given a new task which is not familiar, easily freaks out and shout at someone as an outlet.

Yes, I was a victim of one of my Team Leader. Everybody knows how loaded I am and she asked me how to generate a specific report and I told her my other Team Leader knows how to do that. Then she just settled down on her seat and just kept quiet. Hey look, if you're the one in need, I guess it's appropriate that you approach that person because that person's doing something. I remembered what she told me that the port does not approach the ship. It happens the other way around. Yes, she should be the one to approach me. Then comes another day. She was asked by another TL about it and she can't answer... there she freaks out and shouted at me. I just kept my mouth shut and later I found out what gave her the hot temper - it's the new task given to her which I believe she now delegated to a team member close to her. Not mentioning she's not that busy as her members. I could till remember she told what she told me before," OBEY FIRST BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN." Look who's talking! All she loves doing is to talk about who and what the who's doing. I believe I'm one of those whos she talks about but I don't care really. She's just insecure because she talks about me before about promotion thing. I don't really care because I don't need a title to be a leader. What matters to me is I'm doing what I can for my team and my company.

I hope and pray that our Manager is firm enough to delegate a task to who and that who will try his best first before telling the Manager he can't make it and needs help.

Re-post: ASPARTAME, THE SILENT KILLER

For those who take Ricola & Fisherman, please note that they both contain Aspartame - the silent killer.

Fisherman Sweets

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO EAT FISHERMAN SWEETS BE CAREFUL: Sugar free products contain ASPARTAME .. So don't consume Sugar free product esp. 'fisherman sweets' ASPARTAME - THE SILENT KILLER (by Ron Harder)

To those who prefer to consume artificial flavouring:

There is an epidemic across North America today of Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus. Most people do not understand why this epidemic is happening, and they do not know why these diseases are so rampant. I would like to share with you the main reason we are having this very serious problem. Many people today use artificial sweeteners in their tea or coffee.

They do this because the ads they see on TV tell them that sugar is bad for their health. This is absolutely true. Sugar is toxic to us, but what most people use as a replacement for sugar is much more deadly. I am talking about ASPARTAME. It is the cause of the epidemic that was mentioned above. ASPARTAME
is an extremely toxic chemical that is produced by a chemical company called Monsanto.

ASPARTAME
is being marketed around the world as a sugar substitute and is found in all diet soft drinks, such as Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi. It is also found in artificial sweeteners such as NutraSweet, Equal, and Spoonful; and it is used in many other products as a sugar replacement.

ASPARTAME
is marketed as a diet product, but it is not a diet product at all. In fact, it will cause you to GAIN weight because it makes you crave carbohydrates. Causing you to gain weight is only a very small part of what ASPARTAME does. It is a toxic chemical that changes the brain's chemistry. It can and does cause severe seizures.

This chemical changes the dopamine level in the brain, and it is particularly deadly for anyone suffering from Parkinson's disease.

ASPARTAME
is extremely poisonous, and here is why one of the toxic ingredients of it is wood alcohol. When the temperature of ASPARTAME exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in it is converted to Formaldehyde, and then to formic acid, which in turn causes folic acidosis.

FORMALDEHYDE
is grouped in the same class of poisons as Cyanide and Arsenic which are very deadly toxins. The only difference is, Formaldehyde kills quietly, and it takes a little longer. And, in the process of killing people, it causes all kinds of neurological problems. There are 92 documented symptoms of Aspartame Poisoning leading to coma and death.

The majority of these symptoms are neurological, because the ASPARTAME attacks and destroys the nervous system. One of these symptoms is Lupus, which has become almost as rampant as Multiple Sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers.

Deal Life This Way

" Another re-post is here. I received this e-mail from a friend and I just like it."

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there
to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to
become. You never know who these people may be but you lock eyes with them, you know that
very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in
reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck. Illness, love, lost
moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere safe
and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can
create whom you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you,
but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make
every day count. Appreciate everything that you possibly can, for you may never experience it
again.

Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love,
break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no
one else will believe in you. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

"If you take your eyes off your goals, all you see is obstacles."

Untitled

My day's just fine. But there are few that are unusual to me:

1) I saw a bruise on my wrist but I don't know how did I get it.

2) My friend asked me to gargle with mouth close... (what was she thinking?...hahahaha but I also asked myself what if I try? I will someday hahahaha.)

3) I looked at the sky while I was approaching the gate later this evening... I saw a part of the cloud seem to have a different color. The first time in few years that I've noticed the moon at 1st quarter... been years since I last did star gazing.

Nothing follows... ;)

A Long Traumatic Day

In this world, we have different people with different characteristics and yes, I happened to meet a disaster today---with someone I called my boss, and my friend.

First time in my present workplace (for 3 years) that someone gave me a high-toned voice saying I am selfish..that I don't share my knowledge. How would I teach someone not interested? I mean what's the point? Hello, if you're interested to learn, why don't you approach the one you want to teach you? And to think, the person am referring to is my supervisor.

Sometimes people from higher position don't understand their staffs.... that their staffs are busier than they are. Some are shifting from one attitude to another after the promotion. Whoah! It's really an observation and it really happen.

To Those Who Love to Drink Cold Water

"Another forwarded e-mail that might be helpful to those who love to drink cold water."

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this & Send the link to a friend. It could save a life. So, please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

Useful Information on One of the Deadliest Diseases of Our Time: CANCER

"Let me share this useful information sent to me by a friend."

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard
tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are
no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect
the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented
from multiplying and forming tumours.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These
could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will
strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys
rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow,gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues
and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However
prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune
system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of
infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and
difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it
needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the
cancer cells
.
Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame
and it is harmful. A
better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very
small amounts. Table salt
has a chemical added to make it white in colour. better alternative is
Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds
on mucus.
By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being
starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish,
and a little
chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth
hormones and parasites,
which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help
put the body
into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including
beans. Fresh vegetable juices
provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down
to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish
and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live
enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh
vegetable juice (most vegetables including
bean sprouts)and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day.
Enzymes are destroyed at
temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.Green tea is a better alternative and
has cancer-fighting
properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known
toxins and heavy metals in tap water.
Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat
remaining in the intestines
become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees
more enzymes to attack
the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to
destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence,Essiac, anti-oxidants,
vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.)
to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells.
Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis,
or programmed cell death,
the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the
cancer warrior be a survivor.
Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful
and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving
spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy
life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing
help to get more oxygen
down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed
to destroy cancer cells.

CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL , U S - PLEASE READ

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.

Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.

Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers.

This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in
the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.

Cover food with a paper towel instead.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR BOSS

"Got this forwarded e-mail again. I don't know if this is really a fact but sometimes I'd like to believe it's true." c",)

When you take a long time, you're slow.

When your boss takes a long time, he's thorough.

When you apply for leave, you must be going for an interview.
When
your boss applies for leave, it's because he's overworked.

When you don't do it, you're lazy.
When your boss doesn't do it, he's too busy.

When you're on a day off sick, you're always sick.
When your boss is on a day off sick, he must be very ill.

When you make a mistake, you're an idiot.
When your boss makes a mistake, he's only human.

When doing something without being told, you're overstepping your
authority. When your boss does the same thing, that's initiative.

When you take a stand, you're being bull-headed.
When your boss does it, he's being firm.

When you overlooked the rules of etiquette, you're being rude. When
your boss skips a few rules, he's being original.

When you please your boss, you're brown-nosing.
When your boss pleases his boss, he's being co-operative.

When you're out of the office, you're wandering around.
When your boss is out of the office, he's on business.

When you do something wrong, you take the blame
And when you do something right, your boss gets the praise.

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

"Got this e-mail from an officemate. I hope this is something useful."

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating

It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking

It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption

Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution

The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation

Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping

Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness

Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts

Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying,
which includes even the best cooking oils
like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you
are tired, except if the body is very fit.

8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw
or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies
should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good
eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule."

Because :

Evening at 9 - 11 pm : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1 am : is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3 am : detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5 am : detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am : detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9 am : absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier,
before 6:30 am , for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

DO TAKE CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH.................

WHY WE SWING OUR ARMS WHEN WE WALK

"During the noontime break, a friend of mine asked me why we swing our hands when we walk. I , too questioned myself , why? my mind keeps asking me so I look for anwers on the net and here's what I got."

Arm-swinging improves biomechanical efficiency, says Michael McPartland, Ph.D., of Harvard's BioMotion Laboratory. Notice during a walk or run that your limbs are "out of phase," left leg forward and right arm backward, etc. This way, body torque from the leg and arm swings counter each other, stabilizing the torso and head.

To prove this, try a brisk walk or slow jog with arms tightly crossed against your chest. Now both your hips and shoulders will rotate by an undesirable amount, wasting energy. Or try jogging and moving your arms "in phase," right arm and left arm forward together, etc. "This is very difficult and unnatural. And the faster you jog, the goofier it gets!"

An SMS from my Sister

"Life's never easy. You can decide for things you need, but you can't expect a good result. You can choose a lifestyle you want, but you can't be sure of contentment. You can enjoy the feeling of loving and being loved, but there is no sure way of happiness. But if we let God be our life's guide, we can be sure of safe landing, real contentment and true happiness."

Just got this message few minutes ago. The message just came right in time. Does my sister know I'm unhappy? Does she know I feel empty? Does she know I haven't been to church for the past Sundays?

Before, she knows I'm fighting in life's battle. She knows how hard I tried to survive. It just fade. Everything turned out to be fine. I became happy and yes, she's happy because I've changed my views in life.

For the past days, I went back to the old me. Someone, who questions life. I don't know. Maybe because I saw someone from my past...someone special but couldn't talk to anymore because I've done something unforgivable maybe.

The past days, I sometimes find myself sobbing in my room. And there's nothing I could do but tell God everything about it and lift them all to Him. I hope I'd be ok soon. Someday...

The 3rd Week of February (18-22)

The whole week seemed to be a bad sign for me. Got lots of encounters from my past and my fears.

Monday, Feb. 18,2008. My company held the annual bowling sportsfest. I saw someone from my past who I never expected to see. Seeing that person would bring me back to depression. Lots of things unresolved. I tried to talk to that person before but I gave up coz it was only me who wanted things to be resolved.

Thursday, Feb. 21 2008, morning. I had a bad dream about my mom. I received a phone call from my dad very early in the morning. It was really something that scared me because I thought one of my fears had just happened (which I've dreamt about).

Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, evening. Another company's bowling session and I saw that person from my past again.

Things made me feel weak. I don't know what signs they were but I feel weak. I feel bad...

Few Words from My Boss

"This is the reason why I love my boss, I love my work place, I love my job, I love my life. My boss always gave me motivational words...and those words aren't just for me - it's for his people. My boss loves us very much and that is why we love him. Here's a few words from Him."

"Be careful of how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts." - Prov. 4:23

Positive attitude has nothing to do with what happens to you.
It's what you do with and how you react to what happens to you.
Positive attitude comes from your ability to process thoughts in a positive way, regardless of the circumstance.

Interesting Point:
Someone can make you angry (negative) in a second, but it takes years to achieve the positive.

Positive attitude comes from your own thought process combined with your determination to keep the right frame of mind.
Picture in your mind the feeling of "winning". Can you picture it?
It's a happy moment, a positive moment.
Wouldn't it be cool if every moment of your life were like that? Sowhat's preventing it? YOU!

A large part of attitude achievement is the visualization.
It's easier to visualize "winning" than to visualize "positve".
You can read and listen all you want, but unless you decide that you want to become a positive person, a person who thinks positive,
acts positive, and speaks positive (both proactive and reactive), your attitude will not be a positive one.
Once you discover that attitude is yours for the taking, you have to study it (from other experts), expose yourself to it

(from positive things and people) and practice it (from your inner being) until you get it.

Attitude is a blessing you give yourself!

The Early Morning Fear

Since this year started, I have these two fears inside that I really am not certain if I could recover if it happens.

I woke up from my sleep. I stretched my body, reached for my phone to check if I have a message. When I flipped it open, I got a missed call and it was made earlier than 4:30am. It's from my pop. It's a very cold morning. I'm shaking... not because it's cold...but because I'm afraid one of my fears is about to happen. I suddenly sent a message asking why I got a very early missed call from him. He told me to ask my sister about it. The fear I have is growing asking myself why pop can't just tell me about it. After a few minutes, I got a call from his phone...it was ma's voice. I sighed and thanked God they're both ok. They just told me something not related to the fears I'm having.

It's a long story but the fears I have is more of a family related and it's way too long if I will blog about it. Hopefully, someday, I might blog about it...not this time.

Thank God everything's fine...

VALENTINE'S IN THE CITY

February 14, everybody's busy for the so called "heart's day." Families and couples went out for dinner, flowers sent to love ones, friends meet for a chat over coffee, yes, am one of them :).

I was supposed to meet my special friends because we hardly see each other since they left work for nursing school. But again, because student life is busier than having a career life, the date was canceled so, I have to make a plan B.

My friends from the office invited me out for a "not planned gimmick." We went out for dinner and look for a coffee bar. We ended up at a coffee sgop
. Cared for a coffee? Yes! The place is nice because it's not crowded. We stayed there and had a long talk. I missed talking to these guys and I was really glad I had bond with them since the last.

My valentine's day wasn't bad at all. I missed my special friends so much but Saturday can wait. I'm meeting them for a post Valentine's Day date.

BF? Someone's asking me...hahahaha.... These days, women no longer allow to have a bf for the sake of just having a bf. So, I'm still in a sort of enjoying my life while I'm still free.... and wait for the person with whom I can share the true feeling they called "LOVE." :)

Amidst an Emotion

Emotion is a strong feeling over something or someone. It could be a happy feeling, it could be a sad feeling, it could be an anger and all that belongs to the feeling family. Emotions can be controlled. It can also be unexpressed. People should be emotionally healthy because sometimes it rules life...it ruins life if its excessively overflowing.

Just this week after workout, while I was at the locker room, I've heard the gym staffs talking about their co-staff who committed suicide(I was wondering who that staff was). Because I was a bit curious why it happened and who that staff was, I joined them in their conversation and they showed me a pitcure of the lady. And then, I remembered her. I kept asking things as if I'm a member of CIA. I've learned she killed herself because she's so depressed. She has two kids and her husband is so irresponsible. Her husband is jobless. Everytime she goes home she can't relax or even rest because she have to cook for the family and do household chores. I don't know how long has she been hiding her emotions. I asked her co-staffs if she's mentioned how worst the situation is. They couldn't believe their friend would just kill herself. None of her co- staffs knew what really happened. The news just came out.

It is really important for us to know until where can we stand amidst the emotions we have over a situation. What happened to that gym staff is that maybe she could no longer control her emotions together with her pessimistic views that she could no longer have a better life.

According to my favorite motivational authors, Stephen Covey, life is a matter of choice and not of destiny. And I believe in that. Few years back, I never gave importance to the chances I have. But I have realized that if I don't do something for myself I couldn't help others. In our life, we need an outlet for everything. I need my family and my friends, to whom I could tell everything I wanted to share. If I have problems, I don't need advices, rather, I just need an ear to listen to me to lighten my heavy heart. I need the Father the most because I could tell Him everything even in silence.

Cebu's Bantayan Island

This is a view of one of Cebu's visited beaches located at Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island. Bantayan Island is 3 to 5 hours away from Metro Cebu. To get there, from Metro Cebu, you have to take a bus bound for Jagnaya. Then from Jagnaya, you need to go aboard a ferry going to Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island. And, when the ferry reached the sea port of Sta. Fe, you're already in Bantayan Island! Then all you have to do when you get there is to choose to which resort are you gonna stay and then, take a "tri-sikad" going to the desired resort. Easy right? Hhave fun under the sun! Ü

Live A Life that Matters (unknown author)

Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame, and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.
So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.

What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.

Stephen Covey's 90/10 Principle

Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life.
What is the 90/10 Principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you.
90% of life is decided by how you react.
What does this mean?
We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us.

We cannot stop the car from breaking down.
The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off.
A driver may cut us off in traffic.
We have no control over this 10%.

The other 90% is different.
You determine the other 90%.
How? By your reaction.

You cannot control a red light, but you can control your reaction.
Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example.

You are eating breakfast with your family.
Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt.
You have no control over what just what happened.
What happens when the next will be determined by how you react.
You curse.
You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over.
She breaks down in tears.
After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for
placing the cup too close to the edge of the table.
A short verbal battle follows.
You storm upstairs and change your shirt.
Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy
crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school.
She misses the bus.
Your spouse must leave immediately for work.
You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school.
Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit.
After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive
at school.
Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye.
After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase.
Your day has started terribly.
As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse.
You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find
a small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.
Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning.

Why did you have a bad day?
A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?
The answer is D.
You had no control over what happened with the coffee.
How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day.

Here is what could have and should have happened.
Coffee splashes over you.
Your daughter is about to cry.
You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next
time."
Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs.
After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase,
you come back down in time to look through the window and see your
child getting on the bus.
She turns and waves.
You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff.
Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference?
Two different scenarios.
Both started the same.
Both ended different.
Why? Because of how you REACTED.

You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens.
The other 90% was determined by your reaction.
Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle.
If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge.
Let the attack roll off like water on glass.
You don't have to let the negative comment affect you!
React properly and it will not ruin your day.
A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting
stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic?
Do you lose your temper?
Pound on the steering wheel?
A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off!
Do you curse?
Does your blood pressure skyrocket?
Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at
work?
Why let the cars ruin your drive?
Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.
You are told you lost your job.
Why lose sleep and get irritated?
It will work out.
Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job.

The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day.
Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant?
She has no control over what is going on.
Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger.
Why get stressed out?
It will just make things worse.

Now you know the 90-10 principle.
Apply it and you will be amazed at the results.
You will lose nothing if you try it.
The 90-10 principle is incredible.
Very few know and apply this principle.

The result?
Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials,
problems and heartache.

There never seem to be a success in life.
Bad days follow bad days.
Terrible things seem to be constantly happening.
There is constant stress, lack of joy, and broken relationships.
Worry consumes time.
Anger breaks friendships and life seems dreary and is not enjoyed to
the fullest.

Friends are lost.
Life is a bore and often seems cruel.
Does this describe you? If so, do not be discouraged.
You can be different!
Understand and apply the 90/10 principle.
It will change your life.

..... but only if you really try it!

A DESCRIPTION OF AN AQUARIAN

A DESCRIPTION OF AN AQUARIAN

Aquarians are those born under the Aquarius sign. According to the site Astrology-Online, Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both types are strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to light which persuades them that they have been mistaken. They have a breadth of vision that brings diverse factors into a whole, and can see both sides of an argument without shilly-shallying as to which side to take. Consequently they are unprejudiced and tolerant of other points of view. This is because they can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it themselves. They obey the Quaker exhortation to "Be open to truth, from whatever source it comes," and are prepared to learn from everyone.

Both types are humane, frank, serious minded, genial, refined, sometimes ethereal, and idealistic, though this last quality is tempered with a sensible practicality. They are quick, active and persevering without being self-assertive, and express themselves with reason, moderation and sometimes, a dry humor.

They are nearly always intelligent, concise, clear and logical. Many are strongly imaginative and psychically intuitive, so that the Age of Aquarius, which is about to begin, is much anticipated by psychic circles as an age in which mankind will experience a great spiritual awakening. The Aquarian philosophical and spiritual bent may be dangerous in that it can drive the subjects into an ivory-tower existence where they meditate on abstractions that bear little relevance to life. On the other hand it can help the many who have scientific leanings to combine these with the Aquarian yearning for the universal recognition of the brotherhood of man, and to embark on scientific research to fulfill their philanthropic ideals of benefiting mankind. When some cause or work of this nature inspires them, they are capable of such devotion to it that they may drive themselves to the point of exhaustion and even risk injuring their health.

Both types need to retire from the world at times and to become temporary loners. They appreciate opportunities for meditation or, if they are religious, of retreats. Even in company they are fiercely independent, refusing to follow the crowd. They dislike interference by others, however helpfully intended, and will accept it only on their own terms. Normally they have good taste in drama, music and art, and are also gifted in the arts, especially drama.

In spite of the often intensely magnetic, forthcoming and open personality of the more extrovert kind of Aquarian, and of their desire to help humanity, neither type makes friends easily. They sometimes appear to condescend to others and take too little trouble to cultivate the acquaintance of people who do not particularly appeal to them. They do not give themselves easily - perhaps their judgment of human nature is too good for that - and are sometimes accounted cold. But once they decide that someone is worthy of their friendship or love, they can exert an almost hypnotic and irresistible mental attraction on them and will themselves become tenacious friends or lovers, ready to sacrifice everything for their partners and be faithful to them for life. However, they are sometimes disappointed emotionally because their own high personal ideals cause them to demand more of others than is reasonable. And if they are deceived their anger is terrible. If disillusioned, they do not forgive.

Aquarians work best in group projects, provided that they are recognized as having a leading part in them. They have a feeling of unity with nature and a desire for knowledge and truth that makes them admirable scientists, especially astronomers and natural historians. They may excel in photography, radiography, electronics - anything connected with the electrical and radio industries - aviation and everything technical. On the arts and humanities side their progressive tendencies can be expressed in writing, especially poetry, and broadcasting, or as welfare workers and teachers. Some have gifts as entertainers and make good character actors (having an ability to mimic) and musicians. The more psychic among them possess healing gifts, especially in curing the mentally sick.

Among the faults to which they are liable are fanatical eccentricity, wayward egotism, excessive detachment and an inclination to retreat from life and society, and a tendency to be extremely dogmatic in their opinions. Aquarians can be a threat to all they survey or a great boon for humanity in general. Circumstances - for example, continuous opposition to a cause they hold dear - may cause the atrophy of the openness of mind that is one of the Aquarian's most attractive traits. They may express a lack of integrity in broken promises, secretiveness or cunning. Simmering anger and resentment, rudeness or, worse, a tense, threatening silence which may suddenly burst out in eruptions of extreme temper, these are all part of the negative side of the Aquarian. This can also reveal itself in a sustained hatred for enemies that is capable of enlarging itself into a misanthropy toward the whole of mankind.

PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE TO YOU, AND THEIR SOLUTIONS

As with all sun signs, we all have unique traits to our personalities. When these traits are suppressed, or unrealized, problems will arise. However, with astrology we can examine the problem and assess the proper solution based on the sun sign characteristics. As an Aquarius you may see things below that really strike home. Try the solution, you most likely will be amazed at the results. If you find yourself on the receiving end of the negatives below, it is because you are failing to express the positive.

Problem: Being left all alone while others enjoy the companionship you long for.
Solution: You should practice expressing your humanity by accepting people the way they are and not find too much fault in them.

Problem: You always seem to miss the boat when it comes to love.
Solution: Try letting down the mental guard that you keep on your emotions that stops you from being the self you long to be.

Problem: You always seem to miss out on the better jobs or big promotions at work.
Solution: Learn to use your positive side in teamwork and group effort, the lone wolf approach will get you nowhere.

Problem: You seem to become physically ill more than you should.
Solution: By repressing your emotions you drive the unrest deep inside where it can cost you in terms of health. Express your feelings but do it with tact.
